Privacy Policy
Last Updated: November 4, 2025
Overview
SpeedCheck Pro is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe in minimal data collection, local-first storage, and complete transparency.
Data Collection
What We Collect: None
SpeedCheck Pro does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All testing and data storage happens entirely in your web browser.
Where Your Data Lives
All data is stored locally in your browser using:
- IndexedDB for test history and results
 - localStorage for preferences

Your data NEVER leaves your device. We have no servers storing user data.
Data Retention
You control all data retention:
- Test history is stored in your browser until you clear it
 - You can delete individual tests or all history at any time
 - Clearing browser data removes all stored information

Third-Party Services
Google Lighthouse API
When you test a website, we use the Google PageSpeed Insights API (Google Lighthouse) to analyze performance:
- What's sent: Only the URL you want to test
 - Purpose: Performance analysis and Core Web Vitals measurement
 - Provider: Google LLC
 - Their privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

No personal information or user identifiers are sent to Google.
Analytics
We do NOT use any analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party scripts that collect user data.
Your Rights
Since we don't collect any data, there's nothing to request, delete, or export. Your test results are yours alone, stored only in your browser.
Children's Privacy
SpeedCheck Pro does not knowingly collect information from anyone. The service works entirely client-side with no data collection.
Changes to This Policy
If we make any changes to our data handling practices, we will update this policy and note the date at the top.
